Their Story told by Noemi:
Francisco and I became friends back in 2008 while we were serving as volunteers for our parish's Young Adult group (Saint Joseph in Denver). It was definitely not love at first sight, we were both focused on healing our hearts since we had both had our hearts broken from previous relationships. I remember praying to God for a good man, a man who loved Him (God) as much as I did; and my mother in law tells me that she had always prayed for a good woman for her son. Then one day we just started to look at each other with different eyes. The day that we started to be flirtatious with each other I remember thinking "this is the man I have been praying for".
We got legally married in April of 2010. Our original plan was to marry through the Church within a year that we got together but something always happened and we just kept postponing the date. We've still been serving the Church in a more low-key aspect (since we're not married yet) in the Family Life Ministry helping with camping retreats for couples for various parishes including St. William. This six years have definitely been an adventure and a learning experience as a couple since we also became parents to a beautiful and very active. This is a huge step for us, we've been waiting to be back in God's Grace for the last six years, and it makes it all the more special that or wedding date will fall on the day that the Pope will canonize Mother Theresa of Calcutta. It also happens to be the year of the Jubilee of Mercy that Pope Francis has dedicated since December 2015. God has truly shown his mercy to us both and we couldn't be more happy than to come back to the Father's house and share this special day with the people that we so love.
