Each one of these photos is a link back to my amazon affiliate account. Ordering with these links sends me a kick-back, so thank you!
Over the next few months I plan on going through each and every one of these items, along with other and review/discuss it in more detail. If you have any questions about any of this gear, don't hesitate to ask in the comments at the bottom of this post.
As a professional, I always want to shoot with two cameras. If one camera malfunctions at any, unexpected time, I want to be able to move on in seconds without having to run back to my bag. Toward the end of 2017, and after years of shooting Canon cameras, I decided to change ecosystems and shoot with a pair of Sony a7R III. This has been a very exciting move!
I use a wide array of camera lenses. Most often I shoot with a Sony FE 24-70 f/2.8 GM under my left arm and a Sony FE 70-200 f/2.8 GM under my right. This is my go-to set up, that gives me the speed and flexibly to shoot nearly anything throughout a wedding day. Once the dancing and partying have begun, I usually just shoot with a single camera body with a wide Sony FE 16-35 f/2.8 GM. I love the wide perspective this lens give me. I have two specialty prime lenses that I also regularly carry. I use a Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro for detailed shots, particularly ring shots, and a Sony 55mm f/1..8 Zeiss portrait lens for certain portriats.
I believe that there is no better lighting kit out there than the Flashpoint (Godox) lights. Flashpoint is Adorama's re-branding of Godox products. Adorama has an amazing warranty and customer support, so purchasing from them is a great choice. The eVOLV 200 is my favorite for off camera work. It's small, versitle, and powerful enough for most situations.
Those who know me, know that I have been using MagMod products for years and years. They have helped me develop a unique photography style and brand. I have had the opportunity to present and teach on their behalf and am very familiar with every single one of their modifiers. If you use the code "JMGant5" at checkout you can save a bit!
I'm not too partical to any particular light stand. I am currently using the Revalli 10' stands, CheetahStand C8 and the Impact LS-RL7, along with the Godox S-mount
I have gone through dozens of camera bags. There is nothing more durable than the Pelican 1560 and 1510 cases. I have flown all over the world, drug them up mountains, dropped them out of my trunk, stood on them, etc. and they're still fully functioning as good as day one. My everyday carry backpack is the Peak Design 20L in charcole.
Misc Items I never go without:
These are the other goods hanging out in my bag. The Holdfast MoneyMaker harness gets more questions and complements than any other item. Let's just face it, one looks bad-ass wearing this thing.
Essentials for home:
And of course, the post processing. Everyone needs a good customizeable mouse, noise canceling earphones, and editing softward.
